Recipes: Carbonara (Authentic Italian)

Hola!

Cooking in past age usually involves with simple and little amount of ingredients. Modern interpretations, however, allow for numerous improvisations, which means complicated combination of ingredients. These kinds of recipes, usually, fail to highlight the unique taste of every ingredients. Less is always more. Something like that.

Therefore, for this post, I would like to introduce a pasta recipe which requires 4-5 ingredients, according to your own preferences. However, the original recipe only incorporates (a) pasta, (b) eggs, (c) grated parmesan cheese and (d) bacon. You can refer to the recipe here :)

Anyway, I made it for the second time already and below are some pictures of the things needed for the recipe.

Recipe Breakdown:

Step 1: Boil the pasta. Duhhhh! -.-"

Step 2: While the pasta is boiling up, you may attend the sauce ingredients. I added onions for extra flavor, but, the recipe remains SIMPLE. oh. and some sausages too. Teehee.

Step 3: Stir-fry the minced meat + sausages + diced yellow onions. Add a pat of butter or something to tie all the flavors into one harmonious taste (^-^). Then, put it aside.

Step 4: Whip up some eggs (1 egg for 1 person, usually) with grated cheese + black pepper. Whip it good 'till it becomes real thick (pasta sauce kind of consistency). Put it aside.

Step 5: Heat up the fried stuff and put in the cooked pasta (I used old basic spaghetti) and give them some good mixing and stirring.

Step 6: Once the pasta and fried stuff are mixed well, put off the heat and put in the egg mixture. The heat from the pain will 'cook' the egg and turns it into nice carbonara sauce.

And, VOILA!

Go on and taste the best out of the eggy sauce. Delicioso! (pardon my lame Italian)

My housemates love this.

Now, try it on!

p/s: homemade pasta sauce is a lot easier to cook (and more delicious too!) than the canned stuff. Trust Me.

HAKUNA MATATA!

When the only class for the day (and the class is just a one-hour class) is CANCELLED, you would go...

So for the day, I would be FREEEE.

Though not entirely "free" because there are assignments piling up already. And the laundry. And the many-other-things-to-be-completed.

But still...

HAKUNA MATATA!!!

p/s: hope the sailing would be just smooth for the day and the coming days :D

In Between

In between those laughs
In between those smiles
In between those wild thoughts
In between those hustle and bustle
In between those fancy meals and meetings; lies-

Sighs

Cuts
Tears
Tenses
Regrets

Pain

in heart

in mind

TIRED;

though

Not many knows

Not many cares
Not many understands
Not many provides hands and shoulders
Not many HEALS.

Then they would always say, oh-so-knowingly that-

you are being unnecessarily EMOTIONAL

but of course you know BETTER.

*sigh*

Menapak Lorong Kenangan {#1}: Tadika

"Nama kami Wan Nurul Jannah"

"Nama kami Asnidar"

"Hangpa?"

"Nama kami Fatimah"

"Wei tepi sikit lah. Tepi tepi tepi!"

"Wei Udin! Pi jauh sikit. Ni tempat budak pompuan lah!"

***

Dan sekarang semua sudah besar. Semua sudah tidak berhubungan. Semua punya hidup dan impian masing-masing.

Hari ini cuma teringat. Kawan-kawan lama apa sedang mereka buat.

Kelakaq sunggoh. Dulu-dulu aku pi tadika perpaduan kat taman area kedai kek mak aku (yup, mama saya baker dulu tau). Tidaklah ingat exactly apa yang dipelajari. Lagu-lagu. eja-eja. Yang pasti ada kena bawak berus gigi sendiri dengan cawan seorang sebijik. Comel sunggoh. The idea lah. Not us. Kot. Lol.

Dan setiap hari, habis waktu sekolah, aku jalan kaki sendiri balik ke kedai kek mak aku. Sendiri, ok. Berdikari juga kiranya. Yang masih diingati, balik sekolah, salin baju, mandi, makan donat. Anak tokey kedai kek kan. Harus donat makanan ruji ku.

Lepas makan, dengan samsengnya aku pi baca buku kat kedai buku sebelah kedai mama. Samseng sebab aku buat macam perpustakaan sendiri. Samseng sebab tak pernah mintak izin (tapi mama tahu saja aku ke mana). Samseng sebab kecik-kecik dah pandai merayau sana sini.

Redah saja. Sakit belakang kira. Banyak lah sakit sebenarnya. Agak YOLO di situ. Belajar basikal sendiri. Perasan. Ada lah bantuan dari abang-abang pekerja mama. Lepas tutup kedai atau bila dah dekat nak tutup kedai, diorang lah ajar. Seingat aku, umur 6 tahun aku dah boleh bawak basikal dewasa ok. Yang ada gambar kuda tu. Racer apa ntah.

Tapi hakikatnya macam tu. Ibu bapa aku sibuk jadi aku buat hidup sendiri.

Tapi ibu bapa sudah lama terap nilai baik dalam diri. Cuma terkadang lupa. Lol.

Kenangan. Seronok dikenang. Lebih lebih lagi apabila hidup sekarang macam.... Hm.

Out'N'About {#1}: IKEA & The Curve

So, today, me and my mates, without any planning, decided to go out and about around Damansara yaw.

Of course, when it is Damansara, there must be some IKEA Meatballs time.

So, behold~

YUMMY AITE! :D

Actually, normally, we can just ask for how many balls we feel like having, you know what I mean? It is like, if you are ballsy (pun is so intended) enough, you would go for 20 meatballs for RM20.

Thus, as a student - ugh, scratch that.
So, as a poor student, I aimed for 5 to 7 meatballs and a plate of pasta.

When I had my turn to order, leisurely, in fact, confidently (after being convinced by the hard-core meatballs-ian friend of mine, Ema Auzir), I said,

"Hakak! Saya nak 7 meatballs!" *fliptudungkononswag*

Hakak IKEA itu selamba hanj sahaja membalas,

"Nampak tak signboard atas ni tulis apa? 10 atau 15 atau 20 je lah!" *pancaraurasombongnokhoromdarimatadia*

And I was like, did this sistah just snap at me? Why lah, sis? Why snap? Your shit crap feces wanna come out but your anus wont allow, is it? Hm? Is that why, when you talk, stink came out? Now, shall I assume that you are like those fucktards service providers who had ugly attitude and decided to spread the virus everywhere they go? Stupid, I must say, sistah.
Tsk tsk tsk.
I wanted to seek some justice from the manager or sumthink, but, of course, I did not. HAHA.

And the worst part is, when I returned to our table where the boys - Boi and AJ - were waiting, I found two plates of meatballs, FIVE in each plate. WHADDAHECK, SISTAH? You gave them FIVE and me SHIT
Ha. Kan. Ha. Kan.
Malas dah nak censor ke-vulgarity-an ai.
Hakak tu gila ok. Mesti sebab dia tengok Boi hensem (AJ tak lah) sampai terkeluar tahi degil dia lantas buat dia mood baik and bagi diorang whatever amount of balls they wanted.

UGH. JUST UGH.

ANYWAY, despite the major attitude issues with that crazy hakak IKEA, me being me, I still felt that it would not be right if my lunch does not include proper amount of carbs. So I went for the super cheap vegetarian pasta (it's priced for RM5!).

And. As expected. I could not finish all of them. Gave some to Boi. And the remainder to the three Beach Friends - DyaJ, AJ & Ema.

Then we went all around the area and camwhores all over the place.

Tsk tsk tsk.

After we had satisfy our crazy instinct, we moved to The Curve for...

.
.
.
.
.
.

MOVIE!

Creepy, ain't it?

As you might have guessed from the pic above, we went for LOOPER !

And it was AWESOME! Bruce Wills reminds me of my former lecturer, Mr. Kieran F. Johnston (God bless him for his wisdom. Really). Inspirational that man. And and and that Sid kid is the devil.

Generally, BEST act!

AND we met "Ron Weasley". Ema was so in love with that Ronnie boy. HAHAHA!

Berapa banyak AND dah kan.

BTW, today is awesome. Thanks, guys!

p/s: jumpa hakak IKEA tu kat mana-mana, aku nak sarung muka hodoh dia tu dengan karung, ikat tangan dia (macam dalam gambar rajah di atas), pahtu hantar dia pergi masa hadapan, sekali dengan akhlak hanj dia tuh, pi dok jauh sana. UGH.
